This study was an investigation into the entrepreneurial skills and competencies required for sustainable development of higher education, using Nigeria as a case study. A total of 84 lecturer, purposively sampled from 6 universities in the South Western part of Nigeria was used as subject for the study. The instrument used for the study was a 29-item questionnaire. Mean and Standard Deviation were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that competencies skills, investigates and problem solving skills were needed for sustainable development of higher education. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that learners should up-date their knowledge on modern entrepreneurial skills through conferences and workshops in order to change their present approach and methodology for sustainable development of higher education in Nigeria.
